In Math 8, we follow a course of study that is based on the Common Core State Standards. This set of national standards in mathematics emphasizes a deep level of rigor and understanding.

The focal points include transformations, real numbers, simplifying expressions, solving equations, functions, volume, and statistics. These standards are intended to better equip students with the skills necessary to become productive citizens of the 21st century. The curriculum is drawn primarily from Big Ideas Math: Modeling Real Life, authored by Dr. Ron Larson and Dr. Laurie Boswell.
